Business Card Design – Batchone

Business card design for Batchone

I created a business card layout that reflects the professional, yet easygoing character of the client. The bright brand colour is featured prominently on the front – attracting attention and setting a bright stage for the client’s logo and and claim.
The flip side of the business card shows not only the contact data, but also a portrait of the staff member. This helps to keep a friendly face in mind as well as emphasizes the approachable appearance of the business.

Batchone expertly supports and advises start ups in the process of developing their hardware. Brand colours, fonts and logo used in this business card design were defined by the client’s existing style guide.

Hand lettered postcard “2022”

A hand lettered postcard to welcome you to the future

Rough edges and luscious details adorn the numbers on this greeting card. Pastel colours provide the chunky hand drawn numbers with a soft and playful appearance.
The art work was printed as a high quality postcard and sent out to customers, family and friends to welcome them into the new year.

Illustrated lettering – Planet Earth

Illustrated lettering to value the wonderful planet we live on

I created this illustrated lettering to bring attention the billion years that Earth has cradled life.

This one and only planet Earth that we live on has been existing way before us. It has given us a ground to live on and nurtured us always. Now it is suffering from climate change resulting from over production, deforestation, littering… just to name a few of the ways in which humanity adds to the planet’s transience.

This hand lettered poster aims at reminding the viewer to value and protect what this planet provides us with. The hand-drawn and textured look result in a warm and personal feel.

There’s Beauty – Hand lettering

Hand-lettered lyrics

In this personal project I hand-lettered and illustrated lyrics from the beautiful and hauting song “Cities beneath the sea” by Gravenhurst. The lettering was created using digital sketching and inking techniques on the iPad Pro and printed as a one-off poster.

Colour Palette and texture

I used grainy textures to add a vintage feel and character to the crisply hand-drawn letters and illustration. The pastel colour palette was chosen to fit the mood that the song creates for me personally.

From sketch to final piece

Starting off with quick and rough sketches I figured out which layout fit the chosen lyrics.

I then worked out the style of hand lettering and details such as 3d effect and shading.

The final draft shows all details before inking. More examples in the lettering portfolio.

White Paper Layout – German Autolabs

White Paper Layout for German Autolabs

I carefully created a white layout that packs the rich content of the White Paper in 14 well-arranged pages. Core messages stand out as bold text blocks, thus loosening up the text laden document.

Complex data was visualized in graphs in order to make it easy to comprehend. Furthermore I developed distinct styles for headers, text blocks and informative graphs especially for this white paper design.

Layout and illustration for EFS+ Brochure

I created an elaborate brochure design that presents the complex content about the EFS+ (European Social Funds Plus) to the reader in an accessible way. Individually designed illustrations and diagrams enhance the text, thereby making it comprehensible for the reader. Fonts and colors were chosen to fit into the client’s general style guidelines.

Greeting card design – Stay dry

Greeting card design “Stay dry!”

This postcard design was created as a New Year’s salutation. The goal was to subtly remind the recipient to take care of our planet and stop global warming. The postcard seems to be flooded with raising water, that has already pushed the text up to the top edge of the card.
Furthermore, the message carries a second meaning. “Stay dry, this new year” also invites the recipient to take care of their body by reducing alcoholic drinking.

The greeting card design was created within a client project and remained unused, due to scheduling hurdles. It was planned to be printed with environmentally friendly ink on recycled paper.

Illustrated lettering postcard “2020”

Welcoming the new year with an illustrated Lettering Card

While the design of the numbers and the floral decoration is fine and elegant, the drawing style remains rough around the edges. The hand illustrated lettering appears like it was created with coloured pencils. However, it was drawn by hand using Procreate on the iPad.

The motif was printed as a New Year’s postcard and sent out to customers, family and friends. For more work examples check my illustration & lettering portfolio.

Being OK – Pencil Lettering

Pencil lettering drills

This pencil artwork is part of a personal project in which I practice my drawing and hand lettering skills. I’ve been focusing on hatching to add depth and texture to the letter shapes. There’s something oddly calming about such a repetitive task. While the letters appear heavy and clean edged, the pencil texture gives the type a rough and loose character.

About being okay

When dealing with difficult situations, it can be hard to stay focused. Professional challenges or personal struggles sometimes limit the way we look at the world.
In situations like that, it can help to take a break and concentrate on something – something that brings joy and gives us time to breathe and think. Just a little shift of perspective and things might be okay again!
